Proposal, Initial Treatment & Institutional Context

I will be creating a front cover, content page and double page spread for a music magazine aimed towards males and females from the age of 15 to 22. The magazine is both to inform the reader of what their favorite bands are up to but also to entertain them in the process aiming to take the this music magazine in a whole new direction on a whole other level writen by people who read the magazine and enjoy music, bringing an even more intence and friendly magazine as it will be writen as a team e.g "we", "us", "the team" to involve the reader and make them feel like part of the group. During the corse of making the magazine for my media course i will have to take on most of the rolls such as editor, jernalist, graphic designer, photographer and publisher.

The front cover of my magazine will be fairly plain yet stylish and still fitting with the genre, though not to plain so that it makes it look boreing or amaturistic. the title will have a thick black outline and be streached accross the top of the page and stood out above the main picture that creates the bacground of the front page. The main subheading of the band background is spread across the middle, the main sell lines will be accross the left and rights with other bands within the mag accross the bottom also with adverts to win things and free items cept in order with the rest of the page.

for my print i will need to utilize my access to photoshop and create the front cover of my own movie magazine.

the process of making a magazine starts with the idea for the issue of the mag. including what's new and up to date, while appealing to target audience and keeping them interested.

ideas for the articles within the magazine need to be pitched, debated and collected to be then be incorporated into the final product.

flat plans of each page within the magazine then need to be designed and created to allow the editor know how much space they have to work with.
i also followed this step as i had to know how the layout of my finshed mag cover will look like so i could order where everything can go.
the sell lines are now decided along with the photography images begun to be taken for the images within the magazine.
an editor now takes the finished articles and puts them on the the pages of the layout editing our small parts of the text if
these layouts and flat plans then go to the designer for backgrounds, colours and designs to be added for the final product.
i will be creating all of the disigns for myself using photoshop.

the magazine now goes into production after the final go ahead and shiped to stores to be desplayed and then bought by target audience.
as i am only creating a font cover i will not be putting it into prduction or sale.
